Montgomery County, Pennsylvania
Montgomery County is located in Pennsylvania with a bustling population dangerously approaching the 800,000 mark. Nearly 15% of the county’s population is 65 and older earning an average income of $41,000. Median housing costs are roughly $1,500. The ever-growing county firmly places it as the 69th most populous county in the United States. The county is widely suburban in the northwest portion of Philadelphia and is part of the Delaware Valley. Being the 20th wealthiest county in the United States aids the counties low unemployment rate at 4.4%.
Montgomery is a suburb of Philadelphia encouraging residents to work within the city proper. However, major job opportunities coming for large parks such as Blue Bell, Fort Washington, Horsham and King of Prussia attract workers. Thanks to the booming economy from taxed workers Montgomery has one of the highest credit rating of AAA from Standar & Poor’s in the country.
White (86%), Black or African American (7%), and Asian (4%) ethnicities dominate the Montgomery County landscape. The county’s African American, Korean American, Puerto Rican American, Mexican American and Indian American populations are significantly growing. The regions political outlook is primarily controlled by Republicans. However, the Democratic Party has closed the gap within 5% of the Republican-dominated County.
Though Montgomery County boasts the largest mall on the east coast, in King of Prussia, the county is more tranquil. Towns such as Bryn Mawr and Lower Merion Township offer serene panorama’s of Haverford College campus. Montgomery is a place of academic pursuance represented by its thirteen college towns. Retirees can expect to become accustom to peaceful rides on an electric trike, fast electric scooters or local transportation. Montgomery offers a peaceful and relaxed ambience in both it architecture and surrounding environment. Within the county’s borders resides part of Valley Forge National Historical Park. The park is a tribute to the Continental Army in 1777-1778 during the American Revolutionary War. With over 1.2 million visitors each year the Valley Forge reenactment is the one of the most popular attraction of the state.
